Navas de Estena is a tiny peaceful village about 130 KMs from Madrid and 70 KMs from Toledo. It is on the border of the Parque Nacional de Cabañeros.
The wild camping spot we found is a couple of KMs outside the village at the side of a lake created by damming a river. There is a signed recreation area on the other side of the lake which is also perfectly suitable for wild camping, however we always prefer the most isolated spot possible.
There is a fence around the lake, and this spot is just outside the fence next to a gate. Fantastic if you have dogs because you can sit by the lake and know that they are fenced in. Inside the gate is a grassy area and a sandy small sandy beach. We swam in the lake in September and it was lovely.
There are great walks from here ( infact you are actually parked by the side of one called "Ruta de los Reales". The countryside is fantastic.
There must be a small supermarket in the village although we didn't use it. We did visit the little tourist office, and they were very helpful with maps of the surrounding area.
The town hall website is http://www.navasdeestena.org/index.html if you speak a little Spanish.
Overall a great place to chill out.
