Hey Dave, Nice

Hey Dave,

Nice initiative.

other ideas:
- printable list of your query.
- on the fly recalculation of other input GPS formats. In other words, you want this: -30.18842 -69.82092 and I have this: S30 11.566 W69 49.461 I would like to copy and past that in your position box... I don't know if there is a module that does that in Drupal? If there is, please let me know.

adjustments:
- the locationbox doesn't have outline around it

Landcruising Thanks for the

Landcruising

Thanks for the feedback. I have added a general item to the to do list relating to tidying up printable output, including lists.

The co-ordinate and mapping side of things are very much in the hands of a couple of Drupal modules which I have forced to behave in a way they are disinclined to. Specifically the Location module is really all about converting addresses to GPS coords ( geocoding ) whereas on this site we start with the coords and addresses are totally irrelevant. The module itself outputs the "Location" content and as yet I haven't tried too hard to style it's output because I am hoping that I can do away with the module entirely within a few months.

When I looked into GPS coordinate formats I found there were 3 or possibly 4 formats that were prevalent. I decided that rather than spend the time writing code to covert to a common format ( decimal would seem to be logical ) I would simply request that contributors do the conversion themselves. I may change my mind in the future, but at the moment have decided that other features are probably higher priority, particularly given that there are good online conversion utilities.

Your feedback is much appreciated and I hope you bear with the site as I try to raise it's Internet profile.

Cheers

New Feature 26/4/2009

Added the "Email page to a friend" link onto the camping spot and forum post pages. Works nicely. Next step is to add a similar link to the front page of the site.

Cheers

GPS coordinates

As for GPS coordinates I could advice to take a look at http://www.gpscoordinaten.nl/bepaal-gps-coordinaten.php. A Dutch site using Google Earth maps and giving coordinates in all different forms without any fuzz of formatting.
Very usefull !
