Strangely I am still without a GPS because I am paralysed by the variety and complexity of the choice. Ideally I want everything ! Good reception, decent size colour screen, mapping capability, barometric altimeter because I love mountains. I am not too bothered about the mapping as I would mainly be using the GPS for following and/or plotting hiking routes. I am price sensitive.
At the moment the front runner looks to be the Garmin GMAP 60CSx which gets great feedback from purchasers on the Amazon UK website. Bit pricey though.
Anyone got any recommendations/advice ?
Cheers
Dave
years after you posted i would suggest if you disn't want anything fancy but sdomething reliable you would not go wrong with a Garmin GPS12
imo the 60csx which i have is overrated. I should have gone for an Oregon with the better mapping as its more user friendly on the eye and more compatible with the mapping software i prefer.
As mentioned, GPS12 would have to be the ideal GPS imo and yep i have one of those and should have not bothered upgrading to he csx
