Some thing small but spacious

My girlfriend and I are looking for her firt vehicle together.
She wants something small and easy to handle, I need something big with lots of head and leg room.
We also, obviously, need plenty of space for equipment. If not in the boot then on the roof. Then on top of all of this it needs to be afordable.
Can anyone help us out with suggestions?

first vehicle
You say you're looking for a firt vehicle, do you mean a flirt vehicle!!!
Depends what you can afford . Most important is to find a really reliable solid base vehicle mechanically and bodily.
Its no use having a comfy bed and pretty set covers if the thing conks out a thousand miles from home.
Depends what your budget is and are you looking for a camper? or vehicle of another design? (4x4)?
There's alot of choice out there, you may have to adapt and modify something yourselves.
